Michaeli
It's nothing to do with me as such as she said today a few times if I have other land that has been cleared then I can have them tomorrow etc The big problem is the (this is what she said) land was origanly checked and cleared for air rifle (I assume FAC air) and then was then checked again for .17 & .22 which is was cleared for, just. But a note was put on land for not being sutable for new grant holders. (Which I am) So she is sticking to what the guy who passed the land said. Having spoke to her again and again going through my past experances and what I know she is willing to drop it to 3 months. But she kept saying if I had other land I could have it etc. only if she knew how hard it is to get land. Thanks Michael
Tim Kelly
Exactly. She is concerned that you aren't experienced enough for a slightly difficult piece of land. I suppose if she says you have to get three months experience shooting on he land before allowing you to have a rimfire, then at least she can demonstrate she made a reasonable attempt to be happy you were safe enough to be allowed a rimfire before actually granting you one, if something went wrong. I have some sympathy with her position, though making you wait three months is no actual guarantee of you going there with a lesser weapon and actually gaining any experience! scotslad
While this is not ideal, it does actually make a lot off sense, which is not something often associated with firearms licenseing and far more sense than the random calibre clearing. And possibly even more relevant with the story about the whippet being 'accidently' short on a golf course. I have turned a few courses down over the years as too much potential hassle for various reasons Good luck with it
David BASC
I would agree, 12 weeks in total is not too bad in context. David
