DirtyDeeds
Essex police state 8-10 weeks for issue of a new licence, but mine came through yesterday just one day under a month that I applied for it. Very happy! I thought I'd get another visit from the FEO to check my cabinet fixing - it wasn't here on his initial visit. When I purchase a gun, I understand that the entry has to be put on the licence and that the seller has to inform the firearms officer. Enclosed with the cert. was a standard letter for me to fill in and send off also with particulars of the purchase. Will he come around when he gets wind of me purchasing a gun? Thanks, Essex police, for being so prompt.
Dunkield
Will he come around when he gets wind of me purchasing a gun? As he hasn't seen your cabinet I would say he might, others may be able to confirm whether that happens or not. I got my cabinet first, so has never needed to come back for any shotgun related stuff. DirtyDeeds
Now the fun of picking out a SG Seems some police forces are quicker than others, got mine from Postbox to holding it in my hand within 16 Days. Enjoy Already paid off £500 on a s/h Beretta s686. Am going to pick it up, along with some accessories, after Christmas. Had I have had a cabinet in place, and considering that I had a depression problem 14 years ago due to divorce (which was probably well investigated), it may well have come quicker. Still, not complaining.
Markio
I'm in essex too. Once they receive that notification form they should arrange to come round to check it's stored correctly. And yes, i found my FEO to be top notch, i shotgunner himself i believe and a very helpful guy.
