rcmh
When sending my border terrier out to retrieve he has started cherry picking and refusing to pick up certain things if he knows I have his favourite object (ball for example). E.g. If I set multiple retrieves up for him he will bring back the ball first and then refuse to go to fetch the rope toy as he obsesses over the ball (which would by now be in my pocket) How do I get him to pick up things that he feels have "lower value"? Dave1087
Rub his favourite treats on the things he will not retrieve and play with him with them then try a retrieve and don't try him with the ball for now just concentrat on the other things for retrieving Hope this helps
jeffd
Hi, Don't take the ball anymore for a while, only reintroduce when he is happy picking up the other objects
