JDog
It may have been something to do with the change in the weather but I just could not find any number of pigeons today. I set out to my favourite farm to find that the barley stubbles were green over and of little interest to feeding pigeons. They have not yet found the spring rape stubble on the adjoining farm either. Neither were they interested in wheat stubbles on an estate five miles away. After another hour of driving I found a weak line to who knows where, certainly I could not see the end of it. However I was keen to shoot a few and I set up under this line between four bales on a barley stubble. A high percentage of the birds on this line decoyed and I shot and picked 31. From this it can be ascertained that the line really was a weak one and to shoot some really did feel like a victory on a day when there were few birds about.
