Crossing the line.....

This fox was on a smallholding I shoot once in a while, it is on the end of a big farm I was lamping last night. One flick of the lamp showed 2 sets of eyes over the deep ditch and barbed wire fence, my first chat with the owner of the smallholding went something like this…If you see one then shoot it!

Gun on the sticks and a couple of soft squeaks was all it needed, the second one legged it!

I text him to say where it was and could he pick it up in the morning? I got a reply straight back….”Just the job as the xmas turkeys came yesterday”

I went past this morning and saw him walking down the field so I went over for a chat and a quick picture….A big vixen in tip top nick apart from the extra hole it gained last night….
