wymberley
OK, Guys, seemed to have drawn a blank so far on the recoil damping thread so I did strip the stock down and am no wiser for it as there's no name/details on the damping item installed in it. Next question then, could anyone confirm whether or not it is possible to alter the cast on these models by the use of shims? Stumped as I've yet to receive the manual. Many thanks. Big Al
I had one about 10 years ago and ordered shims from Viking. At the time the shims adjusted the drop only so I adjusted cast by pushing in a slither if cut up credit card. Maybe there are cast shims now, but definitely not back then. Bearing in mind this one was made in 1999 and from what I've just seen, I fear you're right. Damn it!
Big Al
I would check with the fabarm importer as I think that the Euro lion that came after it was essentially the same gun. I know many parts were interchangeable so maybe its shims had cast. It's worth a phone call.

I really like this gun so that concentrated my mind somewhat. I needed something quickly as as the plough is moving in the pigeon/rooks - never seen such a crane fly hatch - are concentrating their efforts on fewer fields. I've managed to alter my stance and get the cast good but this did effect the drop which was possible/easy to correct. I've pooped off some 3 boxes and repeatability is good so I'm off and running. Not only that, but as I'm getting on, all the wrong things are getting stiff and/or shrinking and I'd got Dennis at UK Gun Repairs ready to tweak the AYA for me as this was really way off. The same mount has also sorted that one but without any need to correct the drop as the pattern printed only marginally and acceptably higher. Pooped some more off to check that one for consistency and all is now well just in time for the 1st. Cheers and thanks, Al
Big Al
Hope it does the job. Atb
wymberley
Hope it does the job. Atb Hitting a pattern plate is one thing but trying something different AND hitting a moving wood pigeon is something else. Completely missed with the first four shots but from then on it was back to the normal 2 for 3 with the distinct impression that with more shooting things could get a little better. Well chuffed.
