delburt0
Took the dog out onto the pond and marsh last night he retrieved out of the pond within 5 minutes and we spent about another 2 hours there it was 5 degrees when I got out of the truck and the same when I got back in. When I got home a dryed him off and sprayed him with dog deodorant. This morning we noticed his tail I between his legs with not as much usual wagging. It is still like this now ,he is fine in himself eating and acting normal. On investigation several websites say it's limp tail syndrome Basically it's a chill in the tail due to been cold and then sitting on it whilst cold, The sites say it could be upto 2 weeks to return to normal Has anyone else encountered this problem
pontbeck
Yes, also called swim tail and I've no doubt other names. Mine recovered within 24 hours, it's quite common when you mention it to other pickers up.

JDog
Two of my old labradors had it. It was pretty scary when I first encountered it I must say. Both dogs, or rather both tails, recovered within days.
