gibspoon
After putting it off for way too long, finally got my coterminous application in. Has anyone else applied for a Sec 1 ticket with Cheshire recently and how long was the turnaround? They've been really helpfull on the phone with a few questions I had. Kes
They seem to be getting better - certainly they quote 60 days but mine overran - few land problems. However the girls in the office are really helpful and quick - I suppose it depends on where in Cheshire you are and who your FEO is. gibspoon
Thanks folks. That gives me a rough idea then, and I also anticipate land problems, as its only 36 acres with a public footpath (loads of safe backstops though). I'm in sunny Macclesfield. The FEO that came out for my SGC was Wayne...not sure if he's still there. When I've phoned up it's always been one of the ladies. The timescale gives me a chance to save for a CZ! ste 2712
Two weeks for me albeit 3 yrs ago ! They have halved the firearms licensing team since then so I can imagine a little longer. But having said that my variation only took a week a couple of months back .

gibspoon
only 2 1/2 weeks for shooting buddie, from sending in to having his ticket Crikey! If it happens that quickly for me, I'll need to sell a kidney, unless Mrs Gibspoon is feeling especially festive this Christmas....
gibspoon
I called up today to see how things were going. Very helpful again! It seems that they are waiting to hear back from my GP. I was off work with stress in 2006, but that didn't affect me getting my SGC, so that SHOULD be fine. Also, the FEO gave the time of day to have a chat about the land, which hasn't been cleared. But on discussing it, he said he'll check it and it sounds fine. We talked about the calibres I requested, and this also sounds good as he's an HMR fan. He said that when he gets the reply from the GP, he'll call to arrange a visit. Seems to be moving fairly swiftly. CZ 455 Thumbhole from Santa hopefully....
