NickB65
I am looking to make some walking sticks for myself and a friend and I am needing lengths of just under six feet and nice and thick - why so long? Well we are both tall chaps over six feet and prefer tall walking sticks rather than the standard length. I had a lovey stick made by my dad which was perfect as I could grip it and use my hand as a gun rest - the stick was lovely and thick and real sturdy - it was made from Holly and a cracking find...... Sadly it was borrowed by a friend as a beating stick and never returned. I also plan to add a nice Roe antler to the top of one hence the thickness.... Anyone know where I can get some? Happy to use Hazel, blackthorn as I know getting the length will be hard..... All advice is welcome as this is the first of many little projects.....
