badsworth
Does anyone know of a gun dealer in (West) Dorset who sells American Eagle ammunition in .223? I've just been to 'Sportsman' at Evershot and they have run out (not surprising at £5.10 for 20). Sportarm at Dorchester don't sell it. Incidentally - as they were out I bought 20 rounds of Federal Premium v-Max. What a shock! It was £16 odd at the begining of December. Today it is £22.00. That is some mighty leap in price. The annoying thing is that the American Eagle stuff shoots just as well. Shame it was in FMJ. I know that American Eagle do a 50grain hollowpoint which I would like to try - but I cannot find any around here. Can anyone help please? B Top quality/consistant ammo ................I have recently gone into homeloading and the brass from the eagle creates problems for me but the v-shok is spot on ...........On the batches of AE I have used the primers don't look to be loaded centrally either but at the end of the day they are very good for the money and do the job Good luck in aquiring some and buy in bulk

What I was really after was info from someone who had actually bought some AE ammo at a local dealers. Most of the firearms dealers have Federal ammo - but few stock AE as well (I don't know why). I seem to be able to get as much of the £22 per box stuff as I want (or can afford). Thanks B
Dunkield
You may find any of those will stock it if you ask them too, it will probably mean you having to commit to 'buying' a couple of hundred rounds at least. If you don't want that many or can't have that many on your ticket, most shops will hold it for you as long as you take it over a period of time. The best solution for you would be to find someone that stocks it anyway, but I was guessing you hadn't had any luck with that.
