Heppy1148
Without appearing to sound like a complete dope, what is the general concensus on where to place the magnet? a. In the killing area, in the middle of the 'horse shoe'? b. At the head of the pattern in the line of the decoys? c. At the tail of one of the legs of the horse shoe? You get the idea of the question. I have been told to put it in the line of the birds at the head, but does anyone have any conflicting direction? Cheers all Heppy
kirky640
i tend to put the magnet about 30 to 40 yards to the side of the h shoe not rite in front of the hide to one side is good put the magnet into the wind if you see what i mean becuase the birds dont like to flyover it to much when coming into land in the pattern also keep your pattern in a random fashion not in lines or all looking the same way im not good at writing this down but if you pm me youre mobile or house no i will gladly share my views with you mate cheers kirky
Finnclassic
I put mine out 25 paces from the woodline I am hiding in and place a dozen deeks in no particular pattern around the magnet making sure some are up on the pegs and some are head down. Wipe any rain off when picking up at intervals. Birds flying wide spot them from a good distance and a good 60-70% of birds coming from behind over the trees will drop in fast. If there are any scemies coming in leave them as they draw the cushies too.

I have had to take the rotary down two of the days even though there was good wind and visibility, Birds just did not want to know. As a rule with a rotary I prefer to place at the edge of the pattern closest to the hide so the birds are pushed in closer to the kill zone. taffygun
I'm with Kirky, I usually put mine about 40yds to my left of the decoys as i'm looking out of the hide, don't know why to the left as i've experimented positioning all around the pattern but for some reason it works best to the left. They seem to either come around the magnet(if coming from the left) or towards it then turn in to the landing area of the pattern.
