Scully
In less than a year we have found three dead, obviously poached Roe on our rough shoot. First was dismembered with all limbs missing, and left on abandoned railway which cuts through our land. Second was very similar; young out of season buck with all limbs missing, but found a front leg about a hundred yards away. Latest was today in one of our woods about a 100 yds from a road. Young Buck belly shot so far back it was almost in the rear haunch. It was complete, and judging by the look of it the deed was done no later than yesterday. Must have taken some time to die. Talking to landowner later in the day he said he heard shots late last night. We asked him if he wanted us to inform the police, but he claimed it was a waste of time from past experiences. Don't know what I find most disappointing; the fact he isn't bothered, or that the police aren't. His brother also has a farm about a mile away, with standing for about 10 caravans. The abandoned railway intersects both farms, and it would be very easy to walk unseen at night from one farm to the other. We have no proof but mate suspects two blokes who have a caravan at other brothers farm and who have permission to shoot there whenever they're over here, but have twice been found on our land with guns. They know full well they are not supposed to be there and always claim they 'must have strayed a bit.' Trail cam is going up tomorrow. Scully
A couple of alarm mines might be a good idea too......... Are these legal? And if so who would stock them...our local agricultural supplier?
russian sniper
Might be an idea to have a "google" for a supplier If they are walking through to your land then set up the trail cam to catch them crossing the boundary in full view and 50 - 100 yds further on down the track setup the alarm mine - so when they trip it you will hear it go off and know where they are - the trail cam will then catch them leaving your land
Marty J
Are these legal? And if so who would stock them...our local agricultural supplier? I think Solway feeders have them or possibly Henry Krank, both do mail order.
