Its a busy stretch of road with lots of cars going by in each direction and there was no where safe to stop. they were not crossing the road between two fields but walking a long the road with no gates any where near.

I am a shooter my self and was just thinking if any anties witnessed these two it would be ammo in their favour and I am sure they would of made a big deal of it. After all the law is the law and they were breaking it how ever you look at it. There are people out there that are just looking to start a fight and the best we can do is to not let them get their hands on it.

With so many recording devices out there now its only a matter of time before things like this end up on utube and in court. I love my sport and will be dammed if some anti is going to try and take that away from me because of some simple foolish behaviour.

Superspark, you stated that "they were breaking the law however you look at it".

Many of us that know and understand the "UK gun laws, rules and regulations" know full well that they weren't acting illegally even if it might not have been the most sensible way to go about things. The law says something to the effect of (I'm not going to look it up so that I can quote it "word for word" but someone no doubt will) "it is illegal to carry a LOADED SHOTGUN in a public place WITHOUT GOOD REASON". Crossing or walking down a road to get from one field to another on your permissions is accepted as good reason. I have to do this on one of my permissions and have had the police come out to speak to me about it after a Furry Friend Hugger phoned them and reported me. The police were perfectly happy with what I was doing and accepted that I was acting perfectly legally, and put the Furry Friend Hugger right on that legal position.

I'm not being funny but if people are going to accuse people of breaking the law (Especially gun and shooting related laws) then they really need to understand the laws they claim they are breaking first! We as shooters should be setting the example by fully understanding the laws that we are governed by!

Don't **** it.

If more people did and such that it was a common occurrence the less of a big deal it is.

All this walking on egg shells plays into the hands of antis and alienates us.

And as above, carrying an empty (and broken) shotty down a country lane isn't illegal.

Nicely put :good:
