My BIL has just bought himself an old semi auto fitted with a poly choke. For those who haven't seen them it is a choke which you adjust by twisting to give various constrictions from Skeet to extra full. Seems perfect for a semi as it takes a moment to change choke, doesn't seem to make it barrel heavy & doesn't seem to have a noticeable down side.

So why do they seem to have faded away?

I use to have a mossberg pump action with a 'c-lect' choke - same thing as the poly choke but as above i was forever fiddling about with it and it became quite a distraction!!

I have 2 mossy's at the moment fitted with this, I useualy set them at tight half for most things and slack half for slug then dont fidle with them on an outing in the field or on a course of fire for PSG, but if your one for constantly changing chokes in a multi choke gun then your bound to fidle with one of these. I did mess around with them a lott when I first got them but then setled with the two settings above which seem to work fine.
