gazbev
Hi,can anyone recommend this book? I am getting a pup next year and I am looking for a good book to get me going. I have Dave Lisett DVDs to help me but just need a bit more info on building good foundations. I will post in the wanted section for the book if it comes highly recommended. I will be getting a springer if that makes a difference. Thanks in advance
felly100
I have found it an excellent starting point. I bought the Drakeshead Way DVD,and while it's very good,I couldn't fathom the timing aspects of the training. Now though it has complimented it. One of the great points to the book is the way it not only tells you how to train your dog,it is also about training yourself and other family members. The retrieve and recall sections have been a godsend It covers Retrievers,Spaniels and HPRs. I will have done with mine by Xmas I should think so if the dog hasn't eaten it I will be up for moving it on. John.
PERCE
The Gundog Club books are a very good starting point, they're a very thorough set of instruction manuals. Edited November 18, 2013 by PERCE
