  1. Below is a link from BASC, it is a survey to gain people’s thoughts on gun ownership. it is very important every licence holder fills this in, it’s in consultation with the government and the first opportunity for 35 years. BASC has given us what answers to put where. Spread the word! https://basc.org.uk/changing-rules-on-gun-ownership/
  2. With euro 6 regarding diesels I would get a petrol unless you do a lot of miles or tow
  3. Subaru Forester 59 (09) for sale in silver 76k, stamped dealer history till 48k privately serviced regularly in the four years I have owned it, it's not a shooting truck (although it could easily be just a bit too new) it's my Mrs's car and has no major marks but does have scratches. It's the highest spec they do ( suretrak) 6 CD player, xenon lights, panoramic roof, underbody guards, heated leather, folding mirrors probably more things but can't think of any at the mo. I think this spec car was nearly 30k new 7 (years ago)and I bought it off stratstone jaguar for half that 4years ago. I had a detachable towbar fitted which cost around £450 I think ( only towed light) it has had new tyres all round, two this year and two the year before (about 500 pounds)and new brake pads last week new discs last year (got receipts for all of it) I thought I heard a gearbox / transmission noise a couple of years ago and had a Subaru expert send the gearbox away for four days, they couldn't find anything wrong but I had the clutch changed ( which was only about half way through apparently) this was at around 60k cost a lot of money, again I have receipts, 11 months mot. I was going to keep this car forever, there has been no expense spared and will be sad to see it go, these cars are very cabable in the snow and safe which is why we bought it but with the kids growing up me and the Mrs need a car each so it's got to go. I was going to have the scratches taken out (£150) and put it on autotrader for £7900 but if somone wants to have a look at it on here as it is I will accept £7600. DY8 area. Ready to sell beginning of Jan Regards, Gary
  4. Tripe with their complete food worked for us
  5. Here you go https://www.amazon.co.uk/Aigle-Parcours-Unisex-Adults-Wellington-Bronze/dp/B00BV8RYSG/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1475917466&sr=8-1&keywords=aigle%2Bparcours%2B2%2Biso&th=1
  6. As above, thought it was a good price so I'm spreading the word.Cheapest I've seen so I treated myself. Cheers
  7. I have had a 2010 forester diesel for four years and it has been very reliable, not even a bulb change. It does the school/ shopping runs, tows a caravan gets us around the shoots, also amazingly capable in snow and mud. Around town MPG is around 39 on a run 50+ but it is awd, go above 80mph or tow and it will go down to the 20's There isn't much not to like about subarus in my opinion, they are built to be supremely reliable and practical, they are up there with Volvo in the safety rankings, I think a lot of people admire them I often get questions about it on camp sites and shoots. The gearing is a bit odd, it has a very high first gear which some people may not notice but off road and towing it is a real asset. When people think Subaru they think reliability, when people think Land Rover they probably think something else
  8. I think it might be swallowing water, my springer used to do it a lot early in training swimming with his gob open coughing and spluttering He has got better but if I take him home I have to be mindful to let him out a while after we get back from some swimming and he pees for England so you are not on your own. Hope this is the answer
  9. Winchester Select are a nice gun but if I were you and I was going to keep the gun for a long time I would get a Silver Pigeon, you will learn to mount it properly with practice, it comes with a ten year guarantee and don't lose too much money.Ask most gunsmiths about them.
  10. Yes more practice, my springer would cough and splutter and throw up sometimes, he still does but not very often
  11. After the brass brush I use rag wound around a brass jag to get the crud out or the purpose made patches are good,I've never cleaned my mop because that's what I use to run a very small amount of oil when I've finished. However if I was going to clean one I wold use hot water and washing up liquid or the old faithful bio washing powder.
  12. I have an SP field with 30 inch barrels and shoot well with it, if it fits you I don't think you can go wrong. Just interested why you like the28 inch barrels, I found the 30 fell much better, I was also fond of the 20 bore but only ever use twelve, if I wanted a light gun I would have a look at one.
  13. Well the Triple qx is made by shell and Halfords oil made by Comma. If they meet the British Standard and are approved by VAG Merc and BMW, what more do you want? See my earlier post, don't pay through the nose
  14. Eurocarparts every time, subscribe to their emails for good discounts they recently had a bogof on oil but just before Christmas I bought 20 litres of triple qx 5w 30 fully synthetic c3 oil reduced from £109 to £49.99 and a 15% promo code so five years of oil for £43 quid. Keep an eye on Amazon as well for the occasional discounts
  15. I had a fiesta with the 1.4 tdci engine and it was great, only sold it because it was too small for the family, super mpg, just make sure it has had its oil changed. My sister has had a 1.6 fusion petrol for over ten years and it is a great little car with a big boot, I would have one if we had a second car
  16. I would say it's a very good price if it has fsh
  17. There are a lot of people who put behaviour down to the quality of the protein rather than the amount, Eden dog food is 41% protein, I had my springer on Simpsons 80/20 when he was a pup and that is 38% protein and was fine, decent protein from a known source is what a growing dog needs
  18. Fully synth engine oil from a dropper on moving parts, then a bit of rag soaked in it to wipe everything over
  19. It's true, you will find there are FT people that prefer smaller dogs with less colour because it makes them look flashier but according to my mate who lives for trailing the trend seems to be moving back to larger dogs, I went group training last year and there was a grown dog there that was under 12KG with a squat face like a cocker, my dog is18kg and looked huge in comparison. It would be interesting to see if they could work a full day rather than running a trial. Samir Babbler and Saturns Spirit are smaller Springers and popular sires.
  20. Don't pay the fine and ask them to give you the dimensions of the plate on the car, they have to measure everything and note it down just in case they have to prosecute, I'm guessing they didn't and CPS won't peruse it
  21. Cleaning every time is a waste of time in my opinion I know a bit about engineering (30 years) don't forget we are talking about chrome plated metals with an interference fit, unless they are loose there's not a lot to go wrong. There is more chance of you getting crud between the interference surfaces taking them in and out. I do what Henry does a good clean every six months and put copper grease in the threads and make sure I loosen the slightly and tighten them up before I put them away. Mechanics use copper grease on brake components to stop them seizing, you can imagine the temperatures brakes get to There are gunsmiths that would back this up, the fact is some people love to mess with them and it gives them peace of mind
