dogrun
Had a nice day out on Saturday bit of early morning flighting and then abit of rough shooting, got to the ponds 6,oclock qick cuppa and myself and my son inlaw got ourselves tucked in he went on one pond and I went on another, wasn't long and ducks were coming in in they're 50s all of them teal so fast and sporting only seen three mallard, both of us shot so bad, we could have had more but I think we had enough we shot 13 teal and 1widgeon,then went and had a bite to eat and a cuppa, then had a walk around and have a look for some woodcocks.they are very late this year but we did put up 5 but only had a chance of 2 but I missed them both, but I didn't care it was just brilliant being out on such a beautiful day very frosty it was to,all the ponds had a coating of ice all over them, already thinking about next Saturday rough shooting for some pheasants and rabbits and it looks like its going to be a frosty week, fingers crossed, here are a few of our ponds, the photos look abit distorted must have done something with the camera, cheers boys. browning123
Good write-up - you have some ideal ponds there! I don't get any duck shooting these days - just plenty of pheasants.
dogrun
Hi browning, yes they are nice ponds I think we are lucky to have them,we don't put any duck down they are all wild so some days we might have nothing and some days we do ok,it will be good for woodcock there aswell in a week or two.cheers browning. We have had three good days on our syndicate already this season, last Saturday the bag was 148 pheasants and 3 woodcock. And i have two woodcock days booked in West Wales for January which I'm looking forward to. I agree - you are lucky to have the ponds, do you rent the shooting?
