Fuddster
i shoot steel to supply a hawk breeder-32g 4's through a 12b with 1/2 choke-got to say the dont ever kill as clean as lead-I'm reluctant to drop down to 20b with steel-shame 'cos I prefer a 20 in many ways. you may have to consider upping the load but i find the 32g very punchy through my benelli m2. good luck fudds
utectok
Mmm I have shot loads of pigeons crows ducks with 34gm 4s steel through my 12b but nowadays prefer a 20bore for most pigeon and pheasant shooting so hoped a 20 bore load would do the trick ? Fuddster
I've shot circa 1500 pigeons over the last 3 years with steel and found myself having to reduce my range from a lengthy sporting shot to birds in a definite kill zone-I hate see birds hit, loose feathers and continue on without coming down.sometimes I've had to second and third barrel an already hard shot bird just to bring it down.given I shoot pigeons every week I cant put that down to my shooting. I love my 20's but I'll keep to the m2 for steel shooting-1/2 seems to be the best all rounder. see how you get on and report back cheers F. utectok
Thanks for the advice I'll try a slab of 20bore steel but I can always use the 12bore with steel if it is a problem I suppose. Cheers
