no issue as its mostly guys I've known for years-my substitute gun will be my AYA XXV dated around 1955 so still slightly vintage. cheers f. -
Black powder cartridges in a nitro proofed gun
Fuddster replied to Fuddster's topic in Guns & Equipment
cheers guys for all your responses. BP it is then! f. -
Hi all, I have a black powder hammer gun with some pitting evident in both barrels. Before I next shoot it I'll be getting my local gunsmith to check it over for safety. however, I have a black powder vintage gun day on pheasants coming up. Should the old gun get the death sentence, I was wondering if I could shoot black powder cartridges through an in a nitro proofed gun? I would have thought the pressures involved would be lower in a BP cartridge? any advice welcomed. cheers, f.

Best advice I had was recover slowly and frozen bag of peas in a tea towel applied 30mins on 30mins off. unlike a pal who ran a half marathon next day and opened his stitches half way round.still finished though. f.

had my LC2 3.0 D4D 2004 LWB for nearly 16 years. bought at 25k and now 153k and runs very well. chassis does have surface rust but still solid.inner wings have a bit of bubbling. routine servicing and run every day.never towed with it but it done everything I could ask from a family bus to my shoot truck. and it's pre 2006 so in the cheaper tax band. I get my parts direct from Milners or Rough Trax and get garage to do the labour. Thumbs up from me. atb f.

I've had my LC120 3.0 D4D for almost 16 years. Done everything from ferrying kids about, Xmas runs loaded to the gunnels and been my shoot wagon. Now at 147k and the engine is purring , the interior shows very little signs of wear and I trust it enough to drive anywhere. There were some issues with the injectors on early models and they do rust underneath. I gave mine a good spray with Lanoguard this year and I wish I'd done it earlier. Mechanically its been fantastic but there is some rust on the inner wings and rear bumper mounts so be prepared for a good crawl under any potential cars. More refined than a 110 by far. f.

TT-same boat as you and so onward and upward! Out of interest was shooting much of an issue on the dating scene? I can imagine explaining a 'good day on the crows' could be a passion killer. cheers and atb, f.

Are 22lr sub sonics louder than they used to be?
Fuddster replied to Fuddster's topic in Bullets, Cartridges and Reloading
That's what I mean-the old winnie subs which have always been my 'go to' sub were a lot quieter. might have to try the hornady next. f. -
Or is just me? Last lot of CCI subs had a bit of a crack to them with the odd one having an extra loud crack. Gone back to the trusted Winchester subs and they seem louder than ones 2-3 years ago. My hearing is getting worse with age so its not that and the gun/moderator are the same-both cleaned and in good order. out of the two the Wins grouped better for me. any views? cheers F.

Outstanding shooting. lovely ending to the film. atb f. -
How odd. A chasseur respecting nation rolls over to get its belly tickled by the woke few. a white cross on a white background should be adopted as its new corporate flag. no purchases from this household ever again. f.
