Silver pigeon to auto safety

I have a SP sporting which comes with a manual safety. I believe it's possible to easily convert them to auto safety with the addition of a small part. Has anyone done this, and is it just a fit and forget, or does it need to be regulated? Can I do it myself and where would I source the part?

I am so used to using guns with auto safety catches that it's part of my mounting routing to slide the catch forward. I don't like the manual safety as it is as if it's already off I tend to not take the shot as I'm pushing on the safety trying to slide it forward. Just me, but I've persisted and just don't like it.

I would imagine it would be simple enough to fit auto safety but as it is a vital safety device I would get the job done by a professional gunsmith I can't see it costing a great deal.a lot less than the anguish a accidental discharge could.i have just had a set of extra barrels fitted to a gun it involved the fitting and purchase of a new ejector and timing them to the action a total cost of 80.00 so your modification should be no more than that.

It's easy to do you need 2 part the arm and the support cover the groove is already milled into the action. The only difficult part is you need to remove the trigger plate to give clear access to the underside of the top strap.

If your not happy pulling the gun to bits take it to a shop. If your near me give me a shout I'll fit it for you. Kit cost around £15.
