Pump action bb guns?

Things have been pretty busy for me at work recently and I've not been out as much as I'd like. It's got me thinking that I'd quite like a low powered bb gun for the garden. I haven't done much of this sort of thing since I was a kid, but hey, I'm not bothered if it makes me look a bit childish!

I don't want one of the silly plastic bb firing shotgun lookalikes. What I'm after is something similar to the old Daisy 25... A proper metal gun that fires .177 steel bb's. Is there such a thing available in the uk these days? I've tried a google search but all I'm finding is those silly plastic shotguns!

The next best thing would be the lever action Crosman modelled on the Marlin Cowboy, but a pump is preferable. So, can anyone here point me in the direction of something decent?

Hi

You should be able to come across a Daisy or something similar..

I recently bought a Crosman A.I.R.17 which is steel BB or pellets, it's great fun as it's a single stroke pneumatic!

Be aware that steel BBs will bounce like crazy if they hit anything hard!!

I also have an Anshutz mod275 which is a vintage BB gun with a six shot mag but this only takes 4.4mm lead BBs, the barrel is actually rifled and is quite an accurate gun!!

The Anshutz is a smashing old thing to shoot and less ricochets as the the lead BBbs squash a little absorbing the energy..

I think the Daisy Red Riders can still be had occasionally on the second hand market, you may be best putting a want ad in various forums :good:

Good luck finding something

BTW, The bolt system on these guns were originally designed by Willie Schmeisser (same chap that designed the Schmeisser machine pistol used extensively in WW2!!)

Cheers, John :)
