colin.y
we have been seeing loads of sick and dead pigeons over the autumn i would say 100 + over our farm and neighbours ,this is not due to shooting pretty certain of that .A friend told me it was due to the beach mast and a fungus that a dry autumn causes and get`s into the pigeons crop and they can`t eat . Any one else noticed this or heard any different?
il cacciatore
Theres been a post similar to this posted a not too long ago, they attributed it to old a-corns cause they turn rotten and poisonous the older they get and the pigeons are forced to eat them due to lack of alternative food sources. Conygree
had loads in oxfordshire, sent some to a lab found it was a single cell parasite which restricts the throat so they can't eat or drink just fluff up and slowly die, numbers still low.
