Dazza9t9
Good evening all I have just been given some cartridges which belonged to my great grandad and possibly my great great grandad, both of which were keen shooters. In fact I believe they were game keepers at the Swindon estate in masham, North Yorkshire. I am wondering if any one knows anything about the cartridges, if they are particularly collectable and of course do they have any particular monetary value. First off.... 3 A.E.C Pest Control 12 bore cartridges. They are paper/cardboard cases. They have Eley-kynoch 12 with the ICI logo stamped on the end. They look to have a brass primer 7 Eley Grand Prix smokeless 5's. They are paper/cardboard cases. They have Eley-kynoch 12, again with the ICI logo on the bottom 19 Eley Grand Prix smokeless 6's. They are the same as the 5's in terms of markings 1 Eley Grand Prix, no number, but states Eley loaded with Nobel smokeless powder, states Eley-knock 12 with ICI logo on end, this one has a brass primer 1 Pneumatic cartridge co ltd Bristol, paper/ cardboard case. End states Eley-kynoch 12 with ICI logo 2 Hull Three Crowns in paper/ cardboard case, states on her side Hull cartridge co. 58 DE Grey street hull on the side One of them has Eley-kynoch 12 ICI on the bottom, this looks to have a brass primer The other states smokeless 12 made in Great Britain 1 28 bore cartridge in paper / cardboard looks to be Eley but case is in poor condition. States on the bottom Eley-knock 28 ICI logo with a brass primer Eley Fourten 5's in a box with a few extra, again paper cases. One of the has a brass primer, state on the bottom Eley-kynoch .410 Brass .410 one is a 5 and one is a 6. They look to be Eley, state something like ALMAC on the side. Both state Eley-kynoch .410 on the bottom with brass primers That's it for the cartridges but then i also have A short leather gun case. Gun fits in it broken down and has two spaces for rods States my great grandads name under the end cap " J A Edgar Swinton masham ripon yorks" A leather cartridge bag which states G.G.B & Co London. On the back And is this the first bore snake?? I think it's all very interesting stuff, I just wish the gun case, cartridge bag could talk! Thank you in advance
