oscarsdad
I need to buy some more cleaning bits so thought I may as well buy a full kit together as it's cheaper than buying individual items - I would ideally like a kit to clean 12G shotguns, .17hmr, .22LR and .243 Can anyone recommend a good value kit? Chris Bb
There'll be bits in a kit that you never use and bits that you do want not included. It will probably be cheaper in the end to buy each item as you find you need it. Plus, the various part included in some kits are not of the highest quality. All my cleaning kit*, bought piece-by-piece, lives in a cheap tool box. *Apart from two piece 36" aluminium rods, obviously.

malkiserow
I also like to have a quality (long) bore snake for field (especialy in the wet) use and then give them a proper rodding at home. Maybe do a "wanted" for the kit you actually need on PW ? you might find a bargain?

I have boresnakes for the HMR and .243 already and the .22lr will get cleaned when I get around to it lol!

I like to use the boresnake to get the muck and damp out before a proper cleaning with rods at home. Some advocate little cleaning on the .22lr ....
