Catamong
I've spoken to the ground today, the entry fee is £32 for competition, £26 for Birds only, but they've also told me that non CPSA members WILL NOT be allowed to shoot in the competition, as they do not subscribe to the CPSA day member scheme. I've also checked with the CPSA, who have confirmed that this day member scheme is optional and grounds can opt out if they wish, which I think is a bit odd, because it's a way of both the CPSA & the ground to get extra income. I think that the majority of those coming are CPSA members, but I'm afraid others may be refused entry. Cat.
Mungler
I have just phoned Marion at the CPSA Tel: 01483 485400 and have joined up. Apparently you can join now and pay by phone, tell the shoot that you have joined and have become a member of the CPSA, leave your postcode and they will do the rest (notwithstanding that you CPSA card will follow 7 to 10 days later). Cat I asked Marion if I could have a membership number and she said that I would only need to tell them that I had become a member and give my post code. Do you reckon this is a bum steer? EDIT: Have just spoken again to the CPSA and they say they are running a couple of days behind and that there is no chance of getting a membership number today. They say name and post code will suffice.
pin
******, I have joined too (about a week ago) but I was quoted 3 weeks for my pack / membership number. I hope they will take the same info from me as well
Mungler
3 weeks? That's a large chunk of the year to be waiting for a number to go and shoot.
pin
Pleasantly surprised, phoned that number and spoke to Grant, who had my membership number there and confirmed the pack was in the post today Very efficient Edit: membership pack arrived this morning, can't fault that B)
