BBC Tough Young Teachers

Recommended Posts

Good opportunity for that young lad - sometimes putting someone in their predicament into something different can really change them.

My old neighbours had a boy who was apparently ADHD and all manner of behavioural problems, and would often run away, be violent and all that. His mum wasn't exactly what I would say would be a good mum. She also used to buy them all sorts of toys and Xbox's and all those type things. One day he saw me carrying some quarry to my house and wanted to have a look - I was open and let him. I invited him over to my shed to help me plucking the birds and skinning and jointing the rabbits - he really enjoyed it and really liked the oppertunity to do something outside.

I often think about him now and want to know how he'd getting on since we moved away.

My brother is a fishing instructor, and he sometimes takes out groups of youngsters with behavioural problems. They all seem to enjoy it immensely, as does he. Very very rarely has any problems.

I think it's a good idea, to take them out away from their normal routine, and hopefully it might make an impression.

I suppose, I'd be willing to do it, every now and then.
