Not everyones cup of tea I know but thats why tea comes in all different flavours!

I have the Hatsan Escort MPA24 - and I like it. Just like I like my tea.

It has the ghost ring styled sights which Im used to using but I totally understand the benefit of a bead sight for clays etc.

I know that some people use the MPA for clay days (im talking fun not competition) so I was asking if anyone could impart thier knowledge on the best way to use the fitted sights for clays.

Thanks!

Ive done alright with mine to be honest. I mean I haven't scored any competition winners or anything like that but I have had a good time with it and its turned a few heads!

With no shotgun experience I took it to a local ground and had a lesson on their O/U and then I went out with the MPA to a 100 bird shoot and scored a 33.

Since went out for another few lessons and took all the rabbits that came my way, most of the easy clays and a few of the harder ones including a pair off a 150ft tower so I wouldn't say its entirely useless. Although I am sure Id have scored more with a O/U but I wouldn't have had nearly as much fun!

Not got the MPA but I do have a 24" normal one - its been brilliant and never had an issue with it.

Had it for a couple of years now and its had many cartridges through it - all 70mm and all OK.

What mag capacity is yours - looks FAC?

ATB :good:

It comes out the factory with a 5 or 7 shot tube I think, but this one is crimped to allow the 2+1(+1).

I've had two stoppages using 70mm cartridges so far over about 250 cartridges which were just failure to feed.

You can tell by the recoil that its failed and a quick immediate action to slap the bolt release home I can get it back in battery for the 2nd clay.

I did try a box of 67mm but they didn't really work. I have some 76mm that I have yet to try though.

Bit of a moose to clean it out though isn't it!

Slightly off topic, I was wanted a semi auto and was looking at the escort. I loved the way it looked. Due to all the horror stories I read on here I went with a mossberg. Happy with the mossberg but only happy with it, build is great etc.

few weeks ago I was offers a mk1 escort for a great price so I went for it just to scratch the itch.

Simply I love it. Not had it jam, feels so comfortable and fun to shoot.

Took it bunny bashing yesterday evening and I came home with a massive smile on my face.

I'd recommend hatsan from my experience, wish I hadn't bothered with the mossberg and got the new one at the time
