A question for the learned ones........ are BRNO CZ and CZ BRNO and if so why is a BRNO 455 £150 cheaper than a CZ 455 we are talking .22LR here?

I have been granted a FAC an dhave .22LR and FAC air on the ticket and really like som eof the CZ and BRNO rifles on sale but a little confused as to the difference if any.

The shooting will be 90% rabbit, 5% target and 5% Charlie as I seem to be very good at getting up close and personal with Charlie and I mean up close and personal being <40 yards!

Thanks in advance.

Are these rifles for sale in a different shop from each other? Have you got fox or AOLQ on your FAC for the .22lr because some forces don't recognise fox as vermin? I have a CZ 455 but on my ticket it has been entered as a Brno 455 as they are the same rifles. Just wondering if the price difference was due to being from different shops.

The model 455 is manufactured by CZ and not Brno. Many people still call 'modern' rifles (manufactured by CZ) 'BRNO' technically, they aren't but most people know what they mean. You can still buy 'BRNO' rifles and shotguns but they are different models to those manufactured by CZ. It's actually quite a complicated story going back many, many years!

The rifles are both new, both without scope or moderators and both advertised as 455 but one is BRNO and £304 while the other is CZ for £454 - just seemed rather a large variance.

Thanks for the replies.......

PS I did try and find an article that defined the relationship between CZ and BRNO but ended up more confused.... :-)

Have you seen the rifles? For example they could be long barrel vs short, thumbhole stock vs synthetic, stainless vs blued.
