Worstan
Can anyone help. I've just bought a Lee Breech Press and a set of .243 dies. The problem is with the decapper though, it will only allow the case about 2/3 of the way in and then gets stupidly tight. Am I doing something wrong? I'm using RWS brass but the same problem occurred with SAKO bras. The cases fit fine into the other dies. The decapping die has the markings LEE-243-B3 on it. fruitloop
Is it just a decaper or a resizing dye with the decapper in it .if its a resizeing what lube have you got
Worstan
I think it's a resizing die as well. I don't have any lube at all. Looks like I'm off out to get some!
NeverReady
Check your die adjustment is right - Take a look at the videos on the Lee website here and ignore (to a point) the instructions that come with the dies. Also make sure you're using some case lube on the brass... Might be telling you what you already know but hopefully it helps if not.
Worstan
Ta, I'd rather be told the obvious than mess something up.
fruitloop
What lube you thinking I got hornaday one shot and lee case lube . How are you going to clean the brass after?
kent
heck if there is no lube on the sizing die you need some, your lucky you haven't had a stuck case. de-capper in a sizing die I assume not a de-capper which needs nowt, if I de-capper only die is tight it suggests a smaller than norm or out of round flash hole. On a sizing die if you have been pulling and tugging its as well to check your case concentricity because chances are you have knocked the cases out of true, once out they are unfixable sadly and this will matter as far as accuracy. if real bad they might not chamber to well
Worstan
It is a sizing die as well. Fortunatly no stuck cases as I didn't apply a large amount of force. Lee resizing lube on order. Thanks
phaedra1106
You can use Shockwaves hair gel while you're waiting for it!, actually it's probably better than the Lee stuff, you only need a very tiny amount, make sure you get it around the case neck and shoulders. NeverReady
Worstan - If you need any advice feel free to drop me a PM. I remember what it was like when I started reloading... Do you have things like a case length gauge / trimmer, primer pocket cleaner etc...? Happy to put a list together if you want?
Worstan
Thanks for the offer, I think I've got everything... so that probably means I'm missing loads!
