welshwarrior
Decided to bed one of my rifles with Acraglass today to see if it improved the accuracy that was fine before but wanted to play. Well I'm now in the 10 hour wait to see if it's worked or I've glued my barrelled action into the stock.

rtaylor
I was pooing myself when I did mine. I had to give it a good crack on the barrel with a wooden mallet. Not a nice thing to do.
kent
within the period you mention even if it is a lock in you just warm the action and the bedding will soften allowing release (well accraglass will some fully harden / cure quicker). Mostly they need breaking out with a few bumps to the bedding studs underneeth (if used) or a fair bit of rough wiggles
welshwarrior
Barrelled action came out fine be off to the range when my new mounts turn up.
Amazed
I had read that a locked in action can be freed by popping the whole gun in a chest freezer then a quick tap should free it off. I am doing mine with Devcon looks a mucky job best get some rubber gloves lol

welshwarrior
I depends on the compound Acraglass heat loosens it I believe Devcon gets harder and freeze helps remove it.

Never used it after a few accraglass jobs I went onto Hysol and never looked back (accraglass I found prone to damage. Both the above soften within a time frame but once set hysol can take more heat than could ever be applied
