Rape thats harvested just after summer will have been sown in the spring...Stuff thats harvested before summer will have been sown at the end of the season,, September/October. This stuff is probably what you have on your fields at the moment which will be about 6 inches tall and not flowering. Thats how I class it................ colin.y Posted January 28, 2007 Report Share Posted January 28, 2007 winter oil seed rape is drilled late august /mid september harvested late july /early august spring oil seed rape is drilled late march/early may harvested late august /late september winter OSR will be taller and stronger than it`s spring variant but often pigeons feed on both equally My best days have been from a spring field that was drilled late ,must have been the only field for miles shot 350 pigeons in 3 visits ,this was 2 years ago . Watch for clover or organic conversion grass full of clover pigeons love clover seed ,might just look like a field of grass but watch it all the same ,usually good summer shooting before the stubbles are around Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
