dbob
Now I finally have a licence and soon to purchase my first gun I thought it was time to get organised with a few lessons. I'm not a complete novice, but have never had professional tuition so looking for recommendations in Bucks area or if not Herts and Beds. I shoot mainly at Sporting Targets in Bedfordshire, but nearby grounds to me that I know of are Oxford Gun Co and EJ Churchill.
PhilR
If you shoot at Sporting Targets how about Ed Solomons to give you a lesson. He frequently coaches there, and was runner up in the CPSA's Coach of The Year award this weekend. http://edsolomons.com/ Edited March 31, 2014 by PhilR

Is £75 ph pretty much the going rate for tuition?
PhilR
I can't help you there, I'm sure there's cheaper about. It depends also on what you want from the coach, their ability and how much they're in demand.
aris
Another opption is joining AC Sporting Targets - you get 4 lessons with your membership which I think is about 150 pounds. With that you get cheaper clays etc too. They are in Northolt - right next to the West London Shooting School. Also they are only open Wed/Thu/Fri http://www.acsportingtargets.com/
welshwarrior
That's got to be right next door to WLSS it's on the same no through road.
aris
That's got to be right next door to WLSS it's on the same no through road. Yes, just carry on the dirt road 100m past WLSS. It's not as posh as WLSS (actually very much less posh), but it does the job and a fair bit cheaper.

This is it: https://www.google.co.uk/maps/place/West+London+Shooting+School/@51.5405141,-0.4105178,330m/data=!3m1!1e3!4m2!3m1!1s0x48766d13f5f2e84d:0x7af25c2955bbbbff They only do compact disciplines - including a compact sporting. It has a cosy clubhouse, with a small caf, and that's about it. They have a small air-rifle range too. Edited March 31, 2014 by aris
