dekaw
hi all as above i have my SGC , i have recently been prescribed a low dose of anti depressants to treat anxiety (i cannot take beta blockers due to asthma) question is do i have to inform my firearms officer ? or do i leave it until renewal ? anxiety is purely work related . cheers
team tractor
Leave it until renewal . I was put on them for depression and a guy rang the police about my state of mind. I sat crying at work after the ex took my kids away for 10 weeks until court. The police came out to see me , sat down and asked if I want to kill myself? I said no way as that's how I lost my mate . He said ok no worries I'll let firearms know That was the end until renewal. Feo asked if all ok and that was it.
srspower
A friend of mine was on them for a while and it didn't cause him any problems with his sgc, his dad had been very ill so he was understandably upset. If you have anxiety though you really need a long term plan to get off them and deal with the issue. If you are going to be on them forever your sgc might be a problem for you. Will Poon
Would the police actually know if you didn't tell them in the first place ?
dekaw
thanks for the quick response.meds will hopefully only be a short term thing , easiest way to deal with the problem it is to change jobs (easier said than done tho) i am working on getting out of the industry i am in tho. just want to make sure i am doing the right thing in respect to informing the right people if necessary. thanks
