DRWC
I was having a pretty slow day on Sat, when I thought perhaps I should try something that worked for me a couple of years ago in a different context. In May 2012 I had been fishing unsuccessfully for several hours when "Keep the Faith" by Bon Jovi came into my head (it had been on the radio on the drive in) and I started humming it to myself. I then caught my limit of four fish within half an hour, during which I didn't stop humming said rock classic. I tried the same thing the next day, again cleaned up whilst humming it. I pretty much forgot about the whole thing until Saturday, when after about 4 hours I had shot fewer pigeons than I'd smoked cigarettes, and I don't smoke very much. So, remembering that slow morning back in 2012, and remembering the 'radio in a hide' thread on here from a few weeks ago, I played Keep the Faith on my iphone. Over the duration of the song I shot a R&L (or whatever it's called with an auto), 4 other single birds, and one crow. Not hectic, admittedly, but compared to the hours before it was amazing. It was never quite as busy (as when the song was playing) for the rest of the afternoon but it definitely picked up and I ended up with thirty odd in the bag. I'm not saying it will work for everyone, and I definitely think it should be used in emergencies only.

Jim Sarakun
When the birds land in the longer crops out of sight, I sing the national anthem, God Save the Queen.. Out of respect , they stand to attention. I can then see them and shoot them...
