bisondan
Have you got land and permission to shoot over? I'm no expert and have only just been granted my FAC with .22 and .17hmr which I use for shooting rabbits and pests. With deer stalking I understand that you have to some sort of course and/or have some previous experience in stalking before the police will let you wander round the countryside with a center fire rifle with ammunition that will travel up to four miles (that's not to the detriment of RF ammunition I understand that is still incredibly dangerous)
The Essex Hunter
First off do you have a land to shoot on, with a land owner happy to let you shoot his or her deer. What species does the land hold etc..... I would have said the club sectary would be a good source of info/guidance... Quite along list of info to gen up on.... Calibre of rifle.... kent
You only have "good reason" for hunting with a permission or booking in place. there is no requirement for DSC1 etc though many areas ask for it for a deer rifle under " suitable experience or training " which is a bit of a joke to be fair because its 95% theory
