Frenchieboy
Not pigeon or "live quarry" shooting but this is sporting related, however if the moderators feel it would be more appropriate in a different thread please feel free to move it! I managed to get out for a couple of hours at Pinner Ramge yesterday - I can drive to within just a few yards of the firing point so there isn't much walking and it is a very relaxed and easy going atmosphere there. I had a few shots with the Remington Revolver and then we had some "fun" with a couple of the Muzzle Loading Rifles. Considdering that I am still "training" myself back to basics in using open sights after so many years of scoped rifles I was quite pleased with the results. We were only shooting at around 30 yards as it was meant to be a pistol morning but it was great fun anyhow. I was using a load of .575 lead balls and patches which I wanted to use up before I start using "Minie Balls" which my rifle prefers. The target shows the results of 20 shots which I was quite happy with. (Please note that the .22 holes were not from my shooting - I'm not taking responsibility for that!) To help to put this into perspective the target is a 6" Shoot N See target! Looking at the size of the holes I certainly would not want to try catching one of those between my teeth even though I was only using a light load - 40g (volumetric equivilent) of Pyrodex RS.
