Rick 684
A couple of us got an invite to shoot pigeons over drilled barley, The sun was out with a fair to medium wind. All three of us was covering a very large drilled field of barley, we stretch out as best we could along the edge, Using a semi auto and a hand full of shell decoys and a magnet, I was ready. I set up round a tree which was covered in ivy, Dave set up by some old farm sheds using some old pallets and Mick set up in a hedgerow with a big tree to the right of him. As soon as I sat down in the hide I was knocking them out the sky which then pushed the rest up and over to Dave and Mick, Later on in the day Mick was on the radio asking if I was up for a good challenge. As always I like a good challenge, so I headed towards micks hide, As I got their I noticed that the wind was much stronger. Mick told me that the pigeons where coming round that tree like startled gazelles, Once again as soon as I got into the hide they was coming in folding up and down they came. My shooting became more like a gas gun.. I wasn't up for the challenge like I thought I would be, but all in all a very good day with a total of 80 pigeon and 1 crow. so thanks Mick for the invite it was a cracking day out..
