JDog
The forbidden peas are still the forbidden peas. It does not matter how many pigeons are on them the farm manager will not let us on, favouring the once-in-a while chap from the village. There was some drilling this week, in fact only yesterday was some spring barley drilled on what is a good area for pigeons normally. Of course the following day is usually too short a time for a decent bag to be made but it seemed to be my only opportunity today. I started to watch at 12:30. There was a flight line but not many birds were on it but I decided to try to intercept them on their way to the field they really wanted to be in which would have been a difficult field to shoot. For an hour I watched as pigeons flew over head at 60 - 70m to where they wanted to be and not a single bird decoyed. When I packed up I looked at the pigeons chosen field and there were 200 birds on it. I hardly disturbed the line and I will give them 48 hours to settle on the field and I will have another go on Monday afternoon.
