Wa02ger
Evening all, Does anyone on here have any experience with using 6x9 or 9x13 bipods? If so could you advise me which size is the best to go for please and also what all this swivel and tilt talk is about? If it makes any difference it will be going on a BSA Scorpion SE. Many thanks, Matt
secretagentmole
9-13 inch is best for prone shooting. 6-9 inch is suitable for shooting from table tops, but any medium length grass means it will be damn all use in the field. I am speaking from personal experience too!
Therealchucknorris
As Mole said above, plus the swivel and tilt will allow you to move your rifle when it's planted on the ground. It gives you a bit of flexibility without having to pick your rifle up and reposition. Harris 9-13" swivel is the one you want. Notched legs are good but not the be all and end all in my experience. Wa02ger
Nice one, thanks for the advice. I have found the 9x13 Deben bipods for £70.00 at John knibbs Country Store so I'll pop down to them. Thanks again
secretagentmole
Do not buy a Deben, I did, was nothing but a pile of cheap Chinese rubbish, pads moved on it marking the stock, the fixing pins fell out then the spring came off, then it went in a ditch! Buy a Harris, look here at the prices! http://www.tawnadoairguns.com/harris_bipods.php £79.99 for a 10 year warranty? You want to save a tenner buying a Deben? I bought a deben one, it broke within 6 months. make do and mend spirit in me kept it going, but it wasn't great. Then I heard the new ones were better quality, so I bought one as a replacement. that broke too, but in a different way to the first. total: £120 spent. Then bought a Harris second hand for £60. 9-13" tilt. Hasn't put a foot wrong. way better than the Deben ones!

Snap, I bought exactly the same as above for £55 and then just paid £60 for another one so I don't have to swap them over on my rifles. Second hand Harris will serve you just fine. Don't cut corners on this one

Zetter
Just jumping in on this I do a lot of punny basing from static locations and usually end up sitting against a tree or something in a hedge. Has anyone had any experience of the harris 27" bipods and did it help or hinder your shooting? I have sticks as well but they never go short enough for sitting or kneeling shooting. Therealchucknorris
I've got some regular bipod sticks with telescopic legs that shorten down to a very comfortable sitting / kneeling height. They cost me £12 from my local gunshop and still allow me to have the 9-13" bipod on the front for any prone shots too. Worth shopping around - especially on that well known auction site - they often display the height in inches to allow you to check before you buy. Richo85
As above buy a Harris. So much better, I've got a 9-13 on mine and it's worth every penny. Atb brett
