young airgunner
Hi guys I'm looking at buying a howa 1500 .243. I will be using it for foxing and the occasional stalking. Which barrel would you recommend getting? Thanks James
jam1e
Going on it's intended use, I'd say go for the sporter type barrel. Lugging a heavy gun around for hours would soon kill your enthusiasm for using your shiny new gun! I found out the hard way after buying a Weihrauch Hw66 .22 Hornet. A cracking gun, but my god was it heavy!... Jamie
rangey
ive got a howa in 223.with the sporter barrel, was going to get a heavy barrel untill i picked one up to try with scope and mod on it.ok if you are just shooting from truck but not to carry around...dont see any gain from a heavy barrel for the purpose your using it for... Shorty
I have a Howa 1500 .243 with a sporter barrel, and by the time you add a mod. it will be heavy enough. Out of the box it is a very accurate rifle and is ideal for what you are using it for. Shorty
