Guys,

My oppo has an FAC .22 version which is custom built (but not by Air Arms themselves although he knows the name of the guy who actually did it) in as much as it has a regulator fitted, It would now appear that the regulator is defective and probably the best option would be to get Air Arms to put it back to production standard. Can anyone give any info at all about the performance of these in terms of energy/velocity/ shots before recharge, etc, etc.He will appreciate any such info.

Cheers,

Phil

My first PCP was the SM100 and I can remember thinking, upon firing it, that the pellet was not leaving the barrel because the gun was so smooth and "dead" to shoot-but even if it never worked then I would have been happy to sit and gaze at it for days-the blueing on mine was sooooo deep. Mine was unregulated and provided about 60 shots in .177 before noting any drop but you could get another 10-20 if you used hold over. It was stupidly accurate and I regret ever selling her-not sure as to power levels but it was more than enough for any vermin at normal airgun ranges  . I seem to remember that there is a small screw at the rear of the gun that can be used to increase pressure on the hammer spring-but you must not do this :whistling:

Many thanks. I've not shot an airgun since 1959 and my oppo does not have a computer so it's a case of the blind leading the blind. However, I've just found AirGunTune in Dorset so hopefully he can get it sorted.

I could go on about the quality of his work, the depth of his knowledge and the fully comprehesive content of any report on his work he submits, but I won't. Suffice to say, if you have a problem with an air rifle the quality of which lends itself to have any necessary work done and it proves to be economically viable in his opinion, forget the 'also rans' and simply get in touch with Mike Upton of Air Gun Tune in Poole, Dorset.
