DirtyDeeds
A mate at work has just applied for his shotgun licence. He lives near Sidcup, Kent, and apparently this comes under the Met. area. When I applied for my SGC the Essex police web site quotes about 8-10 weeks; mine actually came through in about 5 weeks, and that was just before the Christmas period. He's been told his application could be 2 1/2 months being processed. Does anyone live around there who can confirm this; it seems an awfully long time. Ta! DirtyDeeds
Cheers mate. I guese that's just the way it is then. Seems a long time though. He's getting a bit itchy to have his gun! He's been out looking at some and found a s/h AL 391 which has been purchased and put on my licence and in my cabinet. But whenever he wants to shoot, the poor sod has to fit in with my plans. He's worn a patch in the carpet pacing up and down!
Poacher
I know someone who got their SGC under the MET and it was done within 2-3weeks. However, the person applying was a doctor and said that they couldn't be available very often for visits etc so they fast tracked it a bit i think. Lucky
Got mine through (Essex Police) in 4 weeks Iwas told that there is a new computer system coming on line at the end of the month to link all the forces around the country to each other and this would seriously delay applications as there would be the inevitable puter cock ups. simonp
The Suffolk FEO who came around today said mine should take 4 weeks. Seems to be roughly the norm. Si
Russell
Wish mine was that quick FAC & SGC (co-terminous) - applied on 23rd Oct, Expired on 23rd Nov - still no bloody certificates. The joys of chief constable Richard Brunstrums (speed camera freak) North Wales Police farce.
DirtyDeeds
Well, he'll just have to be patient; expect a long wait but wish for a short one. In the meantime my gun cabinet is looking cosily occupied.
