hedd-wyn
Hi all I'm looking for some advice on how to attach a swivel to the barrel of a Webley Scott bolt action 410. I've already looked at some options online but the problem is the fact that the barrel is slightly tapered so can't see how a clamped forend swivel would work. I don't know much about welding but I'm also guessing this is also an option? This is the gun by far gets the most use on solo hunting/camping trips with it being so light so being able to fit a sling to it would very beneficial. Especially when having to ramble through craggy woodland, which is very common round these parts. Thanks in advance Heddwch
saddler
Add it to the stock

saddler
Mmm, I'm sure my Webley 410 stock is longer....and mine has a couple of repaired sections where sling swivels have been removed There are clamp-on type sling swivels You may have to use one of these

Didn't realise they had different models (apart from the 3"3 shot version) Those were the swivels I was thinking of, might just work. Do you know anything about welding a swivel to the barrel? saddler
Welding takes a gun out of proof A friction fit aided by some black tape should do the job
hedd-wyn
I thought as much, they're not the prettiest looking guns so not too fussed on coolness, more of a practical solution
mark@mbb
Mine have a clamp on swivel which slides down the barrel and tightens up with a grub screw

kent
You cant weld to a barrel, if you want to fire the gun again. silver solder is the usual way. Personally as its just a knockabout vermin gun I sould put a few wraps of electrical tape onto the barrel and then fit the clamp on type to get a good tight snug fit that wont slip due the taper
