Olliesims
After having a few lazy weeks not being out it was time to get out and have a look for a buck or a fox, last time I was out I caught a fox basking in the sun next to a wheat field but with the grass long he saw me before I saw him and made a dash for it, We parked up in one of the fields and walked to the next field to see if he was about this time, we set up on our sticks and andy started calling with in seconds andy noticed movement coming towards us from inside the wheat field, he came down a tram line and stood infront of us at 30 yards, I took the shot and dropped him on the spot, we continued our walk around to the next field and disturbed a roe doe who had 2 fawns following her, the fawns stopped about 10 yards away from us and froze, after watching them for a few minutes we moved into the same field to see if a buck was present, being a no show we walked most of the fields, and then it happened.... The smell of a BBQ and sausages filled the air and with music starting and andy unable to control himself and was determined he was going to join this hippy rave, we started to head back towards the car, with the sun setting behind us we saw a quick glimpse of a roe moving into the next field we crept into the same field and saw it was the same doe as before, but this time she had company, the buck had joined her, he turned and was walking back the same way he had come, we quickly moved into the same field and walked the hedge line, but Unfortunately he beat us to the same field with his summer coat blending into the brown grass in the background it was to late, we had been seen first, he dashed to the field behind, we followed quickly disturbing the doe and fawns, who followed into the same field, we both scanned the fields but saw nothing, at this point we called it a day and set of back to mine, thank you andy for the company.
