Peskyfoxs
Anyone else had problems with their firefly illuminator? The switch has been a dodgy for a while and it's just developed lines across the circle plus seems much duller than usual (almost unusable) Tried 2 new batteries, cleaned lens of both the archer and firefly without any difference. Any ideas ? Will give starlight a call Monday but the great PW usually has an answer for most things
colin lad
I had a problem with mine and it stopped completely turned out is was due to using a rechargeable battery as they are more than 3v though starlight didn't say not to use them when i got it Colin

Peskyfoxs
Cheers, never used rechargable batteries in it, hopefully just the switch that's gone but cant understand why the lines are being projected
al4x
It's weird but I had one that did it, from memory the fix was £30 just call them on Monday and send it back
Peskyfoxs
I'll be giving them a call tomorrow, always been good for advice in the past. Did your get weird lines appearing, bit like the lens was dirty ?
al4x
Yup then saw lots of a sort of honeycombed pattern then it stopped working alltogether
Peskyfoxs
Well good to know it might be fixable
bunny_blaster
I think the best idea would be to buy a T20/nm800 IR. They improve the Archer no end
Peskyfoxs
I might try a multi mode t20 with it, the firefly has been great so far though Edited July 6, 2014 by Peskyfoxs
colin lad
I think the best idea would be to buy a T20/nm800 IR. They improve the Archer no end i have a t20 and firefly and borrowed a nm800 to try and neither the t20 or nm800 come close to the firefly for distance the only benefit the t20 has is it's 3 modes and i great when shooting close up colin
Peskyfoxs
I thought the t20 might be good for ratting as when I tried it in the barn even with the iris shut down it was diffucult as the firefly is so bright
