Kes
A bit of advice required please. My friend has a Browning O/U with flush fitting chokes. He has one without markings and one with 3 cut marks and 2 with 5 cut marks - I dont know the 'choke value' of these. the 5 cut marks suggests Skeet on it and the 3 cut marks suggests cylinder (lead), modifed cyl (steel). ! being full choke I presume 2 cuts being 3/4 choke, 3 cuts being 1/2 choke, 4 cuts being 1/4 choke and 5 being cylinder or 'skeet' as the more open choke would be logical for skeet. Is this correct? Since the gun - a 157? is used mainly for game he is looking to replace with Browning, possibly extended, chokes ( for ease of changing) to produce 1/4 choke and 1/2 choke. Can anyone please also advise whether this standard chokes (came with the gun) can be replaced by extended invector chokes or some other type as the thread length curtently is about 1/2"+, and the extended Browning chokes seem to have reduced length of thread? Any advice would be welcome and appreciated - sadly I shoot a Beretta so can't directly help. Answers please as succinct as poss as I find this subject - difficult. HDAV
Barrels will be stamped with choke type inv or inv+ (inv+ used on back bored barrels ) the markings aren't logical but are available online, extended chokes aren't any easier to change and still need a key (although different)

Kalahari
The barrels are stamped with the choke type. Browning chokes actually have the constriction etched on the side. It needs to be cleaned but it is there. David.
