Madcowz
Hi, I am putting in a quite large order for fencing materials for our new chicken run (15mx7m) and thought that I could order in the mesh for the ferrets court now. There are two types on offer, I plan to go for the 16gauge one, but my question is.. Can I get away with 1" x 1" mesh or do I need the 1/2" x 1/2"? I ask as the 1" mesh is half the price of the 1/2. thanks, /Mad
Ferretboy111
The smaller the better, even if they cant get through they could quite easily rag the bars with their teeth and break bits off them..

Thanks for that. I have gone for a compromise, 1" x 1/2". Managed to get a 16g 30m by 90cm roll for £79 inc P&P which I think is pretty good. That should be enough to do the outside run and secure the inside run windows and door. /Mad

Madcowz
blooming heck, sounds like there house is bigger then mine lol, it is fairly big! Inside run will be 2.4mx1.87m and 2m in height at the apex. Two windows and a door. This is the last section of an old shed I am converting. One window to the outside, the door and other window open into the rest of the shed. Outside run will be the same except not quite as high, need to build this. Plan to lay concrete floors for both and have them sloping together into a drainage channel in the middle for easy cleaning which will flow off to a gravel filled sink hole. This way I can hose it down easily. regards, /Mad

Before you lay the slab dig in some piping underground leaving bends up into dif parts of the floor, it takes up no room and the Ferrets will love it. I will post some pic's later this week of the progress i am making. PELTMAN

If I sank pipes into the concrete floor I can see some hygiene issues later on. I will post some pic's later this week of the progress i am making. Look forward to the pictures. I am starting our chciken fencing this w/end, then finish of the roof on a shed and then I can start on the ferret palace.
