figgy
My cocker definitely does not have a waterproof coat or any fat about her at all. Where did you get your neoprene coat from? Search for Jack Pyke neoprene dog vest and seller will come up, think I got mine from a Scottish gun shop and accessory seller. Very good qaulity and has the cordura chest protector for when the launch into ice also little floatations aids, all leg holes are edged. Terry P
Its horses for courses. Cockers are not upto the job of constant foreshore fowling. Just as Labs cannot compete with cockers when rough shooting. They were not bred to do that job, you will not see the effects of being constantly cold, wet and shivering but it will take its toll on the dog in the long run. My lab will rough shoot to a standard but nowhere near to the standard expected of my spaniel which can retrieve from the sea but nowhere the standard I would expect from my Lab.
