Pal of mine is having a problem with his 1517 gun/bolt, I have not seen it yet, he will be bringing it over in the next few days for me to take a look at, any ideas appreciated?

His words.......not sure I'm following it, but its the best I have on the problem!

"It appears that the top of the firing pin(?) doesn’t pop-up when the bolt is in place; if I take the bolt out and manually press it down it will then pop up again and the mechanism works and would fire one round but the problem then occurs again. Any thoughts?"

Cheers

Just got mine out, had a look, but can't make head nor tail of what matey is saying. If you stare at it long enough the Anschutz bolts will come to pieces all on their own. Often when cleaning/wiping the outside it is possible to mis-align them and they then won't fit back in the gun until they're correctly re-aligned. It might just be that this has happened and the bolt might have been 'played with' such that it will actually fit back in but not operate correctly. Stripping it down and re-assembling might just fix it. Another problem is that on occasion the bolt can lift a little from the fully closed position and the gun will not fire - or it might and you get some blow-back. Cleaning the extractor grooves and perhaps the extractors themselves cures this.

Good luck.
