Distance buying and rfd to rfd

I expect this has been covered, but I can't find the answer to my question, so any experiences?

So you find a gun you want, but due to distance, its and rfd to rfd. There's the cost the sellers end and again this end borne by seller/buyer by negotiation. Fine so far.

The money side. Obviously, sending money to a stranger is not the greatest idea. Do/can Rfd's arrange the payment transfers too, so everyone is safe?

Any thoughts?

Thanks

I am afraid you take a risk if you send the money first,it all comes down to trust.you can ask the seller to send to your dealer so you can look at the gun then pay the dealer if you decide to buy.but this will usually be at your expense and many will refuse.

If you are buying in from a private seller, only one RFD is needed, at your end. Provided that RFD has carriage forward arrangements under one of the dangerous goods schemes such as BASC trade members Parcel Force arrangements, the the GTA's similar arrangements with TNT, then they can arrange collection direct from the seller. Payment arrangements can be protected through "escrow". This is where the buyer deposits the purchase price with a third party, e.g. the RFD, and the funds are released to the seller on good delivery of described goods.
